Why Volunteer

Be Part of Something Meaningful

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Chase Sanctuary. Every hour you give directly improves the lives of our resident animals and helps us share our conservation mission with a wider community.

We are looking for passionate, dedicated individuals to assist with the daily care and enrichment of our animals. No prior experience is required — just a genuine love for animals and a willingness to learn.

Choose Your Path

Volunteer here, or from home

Every volunteer picks one of two paths. You can switch later, and some people do both.

🏡

At the Sanctuary

On-site shifts in Webster, Florida — with the animals and with our guests.

Four areas to choose from, and you're welcome in more than one:

  • Animal Care — feeding, cleaning, enrichment, socialization
  • Tour Guide — leading guests and telling our animals' stories
  • Gift Shop — retail floor, restocking, guest checkout
  • Snack Shop — food service and concessions during visiting hours

💻

At Home

Outreach work from anywhere — no drive to Webster required.

One role, done from anywhere:

  • Reaching out for donations — you ask your own network to support the animals
  • Birthday campaigns — ask supporters to run a Facebook birthday fundraiser; they get a discount on a visit for doing it

What You'll Do

Volunteer Responsibilities

On-site volunteers train across four core areas of daily animal care.

🐾

Socializing & Exercising Animals

Spend quality time with our animals, helping them stay mentally stimulated, socially engaged, and physically active. This is one of the most impactful things a volunteer can do for their well-being.

📚

Training

Work alongside our keepers to reinforce positive behaviors and support enrichment activities. You'll learn hands-on animal training techniques used in professional sanctuary settings.

🧹

Cleaning Pens & Habitats

A clean, safe habitat is essential to animal health. Volunteers play a vital role in maintaining enclosures so our animals have the best possible environment to thrive in.

🍽️

Feeding

Assist with preparing and distributing carefully planned diets for our animals. Every meal matters — proper nutrition is foundational to their health and longevity.

Volunteers must be 16 years old or older. Bright Futures scholarship hours are available for students in every volunteer role.
